1. Find the trailer hook positions behind the towing vehicle and in front of the towed vehicle.
The trailer hook position of many cars is designed under the bumper, which is usually clearly marked in the vehicle manual. Car owners can also discover hidden spaces by observing the front and rear bumpers. The position covered by a circular or square cover is where the trailer hook position of the car is located.
2. Some cars have separate trailer hooks that need to be assembled during use. After removing the cover on the bumper, assemble the hooks that come with the car.
3. Install trailer tools.
Whether using soft or hard towing tools, it is necessary to ensure that the car hook is securely and reliably connected during installation. If the towing hook is designed with a safety lock buckle, it needs to be locked in place.
Check the front and rear connections again before towing. A soft trailer rope without a tow hook installed at both ends should be tied with a flexible knot during use. If the knot is tied and subjected to tremendous traction, it will be difficult to untie the trailer rope.
4. Use first gear to start the tractor and ensure sufficient traction with high torque.
At the same time, the tractor needs to control the speed, maintain smooth driving, and increase power output when feeling slight resistance. Manual transmission models avoid abruptly lifting the clutch pedal and adopt a semi linked slow start to avoid damage to the car.
Although the brands or models of various small trailers/RVs are different, the interface connection methods are similar, and after the trailer hook is connected, the circuit also needs to be connected properly.
Whether it is a motorhome or a trailer, there will be a safety wire connecting the trailer hook. After the towing vehicle and the towed vehicle are connected by the trailer hook, the safety wire needs to be hung on the steel ring next to the trailer hook; In case the vehicle being towed accidentally detaches from the trailer hook while driving on the road, this steel wire can prevent the towed vehicle from running around and prevent accidents from occurring as a result.
Due to different brands or models, please refer to the trailer hook instruction manual for specific installation details.
